In this book, fans of handmade music and fantastic worlds, medieval markets and live and pen & paper role-playing games will find a wide selection of songs. Written with heart and a twinkle in the eye, the German and English lyrics invite you to enjoy the fantastic, the different, the magical of this world. Sometimes tragic, sometimes mystical, sometimes funny, sometimes dreamy - but always PurPuristic.

Loyal fans of the fantasy folk duo kept asking for song lyrics with chords at live performances and the idea of their own PurPur songbook was born out of this ever-growing desire. As the lyrics are strongly inspired by LARP and fantasy, the authentic-looking design was particularly important. In order to produce a hardcover with illustrations, color printing on parchment-look pages and an appropriate page size, the two sisters launched a crowdfunding project. With over 200 supporters, the campaign was successfully completed in April 2021.

The "PurPur songbook" fits comfortably in the hand thanks to its pleasant A4 size as a hardcover with thread binding. On 80 full-color pages, there are over 40 illustrations matching the 37 song lyrics with chords, which friends, fans and acquaintances of the duo have lovingly created. The book also includes an illustration by the theater painter Prof. Friedrich Lütkemeyer (1842-1912), a great-great-grandfather of the twins. The songs are meant to be played and sung - together and for each other - and so there are helpful playing instructions as well as the chords.

About the authors

The two sisters Christine and Judith Rauscher (alias Gabria and Leonora) describe their music as text-heavy, instrumental purple medieval fantasy twin folk. Their repertoire consists mainly of original compositions and traditional songs. The duo are regular guests at medieval markets, live role-playing events and festivals. They have already released 4 albums in the past 13 years. The PurPur songbook is the sisters' first joint book.
