Description

Authentic medieval wool blanket

With this blanket, the cold nights in the camp are a thing of the past. This comfortably warm blanket impresses with its authentic design and good thermal performance. Due to its dense weave and the naturally preserved wool fat, it is pleasantly heavy at around 1150g per m² (approx. 2.36 lbs per square yard). The heat stays under the blanket and hardly penetrates outside.

The blanket was made from pure sheep's wool from mountain sheep. In order to preserve the valuable lanolin (wool fat) in the fur, the wool is washed exclusively in spring water. The lanolin ensures that the blanket is very resistant to dirt and almost waterproof.

These blankets are made on old wooden looms, just like in the Middle Ages. Hand-spun wool is used and since the looms are only about 70 cm (approx. 27.56 inches) wide, the blankets are sewn by hand from 2-3 individual pieces. The wool is not dyed, except for the colorful stripes that decorate our blankets. These are colored using natural means, for example with onion peels. These blankets are free of any chemicals and exude a special naturalness.
