The Shark Lock™ mechanism, designed and developed by Andrew Demko, is finally here! Easy, one-handed opening and closing, smooth-running cage bearings, Grivory handle and steel liner - this knife is up to the task!

The Shark Lock™ mechanism is located on the back of the knife and is operated by a kind of ramp reminiscent of a shark fin. When the blade is opened, the spring-loaded locking arm moves up and locks into a notch in the tang, positioning it under a lockpin. This range of motion is worth noting and unique in that the locking mechanism moves back and forth as well as up and down. This leaves more room for a larger blade lug, which provides mechanical advantages in certain areas. And because the spring that moves the locking arm up into the locked position is integrated directly into the arm, it remains protected from dirt. In terms of size and weight, the Shark is comparable to most Tri-Ad locks.

In testing, the AD-20.5 was able to withstand approximately 875 in-lb (98.86 Nm) of torque - a truly impressive result for a 3.5 oz. (100 g) light knife!

The AD-20.5 is as much fun to use as it is practical. The radical new locking system not only provides reliable protection for your precious fingers, but its fin also provides a convenient thumb ramp with jimping for even better control. The additional jimping on the back of the blade also adds to the usability of the knife.
