Light cavalry saber from 1796

The light cavalry saber, model 1796 was one of the most widely used blank weapons by the Prussians and British. Together they victoriously defeated Napoleon's troops in 1815.

The blade shape was derived from the Indian Talwar. Because of its effectiveness, this weapon was much feared on the battlefield. They were in use until the 20th century.

Our replica is made of a spring steel blade, which is blunt. The hilt is covered with leather. The guard, pommel and hand guard are made of steel.

The sword scabbard is made of sheet metal and has a carrying ring, which serves to be attached to a sword belt.
