Russian Shashka of the Dragoons 1811
A so-called shashka (or Cossack sabre) is an advanced version of the original Caucasian sabre and served as a traditional weapon. Until today this traditional shashka is used as a standard weapon by the Cossacks living there in their cavalry units.
Our replica of the M1811 shashka has a wooden handle. The guard and pommel are made of brass.
The sabre comes with a matching, leather-wrapped wooden scabbard. The mouth plate and the gudgeon plate are made of brass. The ring is used to attach the sabre to a sword belt.
