Description

German one-handed sword, SK-C - for light exhibition fighting.

This simple sword was inspired by Hans Talhoffe, a German swordsman and fencing master of the 15th century.

The blade is made of heat-treated carbon steel (EN45). It was forged through to the pommel and riveted there. The blade is unsharpened and has a hollow ground burr blade. The tip of the blade is rounded, the cutting edges are thick and blunt. The guard and pommel are made of iron. The handle was wrapped with a leather strap.
The sword scabbard was made of wood and covered with leather.
On one side, the opening of the scabbard is decorated with a Templar shield motif etched into the leather with a cross of paws.

Show fight class C (SK-C)

Swords of this class offer the show fight beginner an inexpensive but nevertheless safe possibility to own an own show fight sword and to execute first, easier exercises. They are ideal for everyone who would like to own an exhibition sword, but does not use it as often as e.g. archers. The blades are not very hard and embrasures can appear when fighting with a harder blade.

General warranty notice for swords
Our display weapons are subject to the legal warranty of two years like all other goods. However, it should be noted that the burden of proof of defects (eg material defects), which were already present at the time of purchase and have not been claimed within 6 months, lies with the customer. Complaints after 6 months are therefore often difficult and unfortunate for both sides. A show sword is by its very nature a wear and tear item. Even the best and most expensive show sword will become chipped after heavy use, the guard can become wobbly and the handle loose. This is normal, because strong forces act on the material. There may even be the unlikely case of these blades breaking when they are already weakened by quite a few and deep nicks. These are therefore usually not justified reasons for complaint but normal wear and tear. A used show sword shows signs of use after use.
