Roman phalerae made of tinned brass

The phalerae is attached to a leather belt frame, which is put on like a vest. It is closed at the back by means of straps and buckles. At the level of the collarbones there are thin straps to which a red woolen scarf, the focale, is tied. Two tinned badges of honor, the torques, are hooked into the lower loops of the focale.
