Early Anglo-Saxon Sutton sword blunt with scabbard, 7th c.

This imposing single-handed sword, is a 7th century sword from the excavation site of Sutton Hoo in East Anglia, England

The blade was made from detailed reconstructions of the sword from Sutton Hoo. It is a classic early medieval Germanic blade made of spring steel EN 45, wide , straight and double-edged. Similar to the original find, the richly decorated hilt consists of several parts riveted together.

The wooden handle covered with leather is decorated with brass in the so-called antique finish antique.

The remains of this sword (prestige, or showpiece weapon) are currently on display at London's British Museum.
