Roman cavalry spatha, incl. scabbard with sword belt

The so-called spatha is a double-edged sword that was wielded with one hand and has a straight blade.

It existed from about the 1st century BC and was used until the end of the early Middle Ages. The Romans used the
spatha until the fall of the Roman Empire.

Some finds prove that the spatha was made in different forms over the centuries.

True to the original, this replica of a spatha consists of a blade made of EN45 spring steel. The blade is not sharpened.

The admirable handle is made of wood and bone.

The scabbard is made of wood and covered with leather. The extremely magnificent guard and mouth plate are made of brass. On the mouth plate there are also 4 rings on which there are leather straps (+holes and buckle). These can easily be used as a belt.
