The hooks, eyelets and buttons are made of brass, the 5 counterplates of the buttons are made of iron. This 14-piece set for self-assembly is suitable for the Roman chain mail Lorica Hamata but also for those who want to make or modify their own shirt.
The fasteners are reconstructed from a find in the former Roman camp of Legio XIX in Dangstetten (Germany) and are dated from 15 to 9/8 BC.
