Lord of the Rings - Sting, the sword of Frodo Baggins
Short sword of the brave hero from the Shire. An original Lord of the Rings sword from United Cutlery.
With 100 million copies sold and translated into 40 languages, The Lord of the Rings has become a cult classic for many. J.R.R. Tolkien's captivating trilogy depicts the struggle between good and evil for possession of a magical ring. The novels were voted one of the most popular books of the 20th century, and New Line Cinema later adapted them into a feature film series.
Sting, the magical short sword, was forged by the ancient High Elves in the legendary city of Gondolin. Bilbo Baggins, Frodo's uncle and former owner of the One Ring, found the sword while traveling in the troll caves of Rhûdaur. Later, the same sword saved Bilbo's life when he fought giant spiders in the Bleak Forest. Sixty years had passed when Bilbo gave the short sword to his nephew Frodo.
When orcs are near, the blade of the sword shimmers blue. The Tengwar runes engraved on both the blade and the gag read in Sindarin - the language of the Grey Elves, "Maegnas aen estar nín - dagnir in yngyl im," which translates as "Sting I am called - I am the curse of the spiders."
The sword comes with a decorative wall plate for attachment and a certificate of authenticity.
