Details The Hobbit - Sting, the sword of Bilbo Baggins
The original movie replica of the brave Bilbo Baggins, from The Hobbit, by United Cutlery.
Bilbo Baggins is unexpectedly drawn into an incredible adventure to reclaim the lost kingdom of Erebor in the Third Age. The lonely mountain lies northeast of the Bleak Forest. Erebor is the place beneath the mountain where the dwarves once had their kingdom before the dragon Smaug took possession of it and has inhabited the mountain ever since.
When one day Gandalf the Grey arrives in the Shire with 13 dwarves, including the legendary warrior and leader Thorin Oakenshield, Bilbo's world is shaken up and before he knows it he is accompanying the fellowship on their mission.
On their adventurous journey, Bilbo and his companions arrive at the troll cave in Rhûdaur, where they find the elvish swords Glamdring, Orcrist and a knife. The history of these blades is still uncertain, but after the half-elf Elrond analyzes them in detail in Rivendell, they can say with certainty that they are very old Elvish weapons, used already in the First Age. Once forged by the High Elves of the West, they also served in the wars against the Orcs.
The knife goes to Bildo, which considering its size is more of a sword that will accompany him throughout the adventure. The blade shimmers blue when orcs are around, which is of course of great use for such a journey. After killing a spider in the battle against the giant spiders of Mirkwood, he christened his sword Sting. When he returns to the Shire after this journey, he keeps Stich for 60 years before giving it to Frodo, which accompanied and protected him in his task of destroying the One Ring.
