Description
Bowie Knives of the Confederate Army
The so-called "Bowie knives" are named after James Bowie and belong to the legends of the Wild West. They were carried by soldiers in the American Civil War, which was fought from 1861 to 1865 between the Northern states and the Southern states united in the Confederacy, and later by cowboys.
These knives were used effectively in close combat, serving as tools as well. Due to its typically large size, the Bowie knife was perceived as very scary. Typical of these knives are the long blade and the metal hand guard.
This replica has an unsharpened carbon steel blade with the letters CSA just below the guard. CSA stands for "Confederate States Army" and was the army of the Confederate States of America during the War of Secession.
The handle is made of dark wood and has a brass hand guard.
The sheath is made of high quality brown leather and carefully sewn with thread.
