This hand-forged fire striker made of carbon-containing iron is a detailed replica of a grave find from Bavaria and is based on the tools that were used to start fires in the early Middle Ages. Striking the sharp edge of a flint creates sparks that fly onto dry tinder and cause it to glow – a proven technique that provided warmth and light centuries ago.
Instructions for use:
A flint and suitable tinder, such as traditional tinder fungus, are recommended for lighting.
