The Landsknecht hat is a striking, multi-layered headpiece that has its origins in the German mercenaries of the 16th century. The Landsknechts were famous not only for their fighting prowess but also for their extravagant fashion – and this hat embodies precisely that energy. Inspired by the historic Frundsberg style, it combines an exaggerated shape with an elegant structure: a wide brim, multi-layered wool panels and decorative slits in two contrasting colours.
The construction combines soft wool for the outer structure with a cotton lining, ensuring comfort even during long events. The cotton chin straps keep the hat securely in place – ideal for combat scenes, windy conditions or active movement. Available in two classic colour combinations (red/white or green/red) and three sizes (S/M, L/XL, 2XL).
The hat is part of Epic Armoury’s Yoremade collection and is designed for use in LARP, at medieval markets and in re-enactments. It perfectly complements puffed sleeves, slit doublets and Renaissance costumes, and enhances both male and female characters. Note: Feathers and a hood are not included.
