Description
Medieval hood made from brushed wool fabric
The Simple Liripipe Hood made from brushed wool fabric is a versatile medieval garment that can be worn both as a classic hood and as a chaperon.
Based on the fashions of the 13th to 15th centuries, the Liripipe hood was originally popular amongst the nobility and the bourgeoisie before becoming a staple of everyday wear for merchants and country folk. The characteristic long tail (Liripipe) measured up to 152 cm and gave the wearer a striking silhouette – with no effort at all.
The outer fabric is made of 80% wool and 20% polyamide, brushed for extra softness. The cotton lining ensures comfortable wear even during long days at events. The generous shoulder drape fits easily over tunics, coats or doublets.
- Historical inspiration: Inspired by headwear from the 13th–15th centuries, worn by everyone from nobles to commoners
- Long Liripipe peak: 152 cm from crown to tip for dramatic effect and movement
- Two ways to wear: Can be styled as a classic hood or as a chaperon
- High-quality material: Brushed wool fabric on the outside, soft cotton lining on the inside
- Wide shoulder drape: Fits over almost any medieval outer garment
- One size fits all:
- Width: 75 cm (29.5 inches)
- Neck circumference: 62 cm (24.4 inches)
- Maximum shoulder width: 75 cm
The Liripipe hood is perfect for LARP, re-enactment, medieval fairs and historical costume play. Available in cardinal red, black and caribou brown.
