Description
Plague Doctor mask and hat
Let your eyes rest on this unique aid in the fight against the raging plague of the Middle Ages: the plague doctor mask and hat. In dark times, when the plague swept across the land, these strange garments were worn by the plague doctors. Made from durable leather, the plague doctors hoped that these impressive protective garments would protect them from the deadly disease.
The hat, adorned with a hatband and a leather cord, has a large brim and a crown that tapers towards the brim. The imposing mask, equipped with adjustable straps, adapts to a variety of head sizes. The long, beak-shaped nose originally served as a container for perfume, which protected the wearer from the foul smell of the plague.
This set, consisting of a plague hat and mask, is ideal for medieval re-enactments, LARP or unusual costumes such as Halloween.
Please note, ladies and gentlemen, that the leather used is a natural product and variations in color and/or grain are quite common. Therefore, no two pieces are the same and the above images are for illustrative purposes only.
