Description
Shield of Robert Bruce
The medieval shield shows a crimson lion in an upright position (so-called lion rampant) on . It is made of plywood, tightly covered with linen and hand-painted. The yellow painted back of the shield is equipped with two so-called shield cuffs (retaining straps/arm loops) and a longer shoulder strap made of strong, sturdy leather, which are firmly fixed in position with steel rivets. The attached leather padding at arm level provides better protection against shock and impact.
Although this wooden shield is a bit too light and thin for full contact, it still remains a great accessory for light show combat, reenactment or LARP.
