Thorshammer pendant, hand forged incl. leather cord
This steel Thorshammer was forged by hand. The forging traces were deliberately preserved to give the Viking jewelry a rustic look. It is delivered with a round cord made of brown leather.
The Thor's hammer, also called Mjölnir (= the Malmer), is the attribute of the thunder god Thor, who is considered the second highest Nordic deity after his father Odin. According to mythology, the dwarf Brokk forged the Mjölnir and one could throw with it without ever missing the target. With the hammer Thor fights successfully against the giants, who always threaten the gods of the Wanen and Asen. Also the Midgard serpent got to feel Mjölnir.
Today, the Thor's hammer is considered jewelry and talisman and is also an expression of paganism in a Christian environment.
