Medieval Overdress for Girls

With the Lilou children’s medieval smock in petrol blue, little adventurers can easily immerse themselves in the fascinating world of the Middle Ages. Made from 100% cotton, the smock is pleasantly light and comfortable to wear – even during lively play. Thanks to the piece-dyeing process, each garment has a unique, slightly washed-out, distressed look, which ensures a particularly authentic appearance.

The dress fastens at the waist with tie-back straps, which can be tied at the sides or in the centre, allowing for a flexible fit. We recommend wearing a plain cotton dress underneath. Overdresses and aprons were widespread throughout the Middle Ages and served primarily to protect undergarments – they were an indispensable item of clothing, particularly amongst the working classes.

This medieval dress is part of the Battle-Merchant collection of historical garments. Based on historical models, archaeological finds and museum pieces – as authentic as possible, as modern as necessary.
