Bells and chimes as in the Middle Ages
These beautiful bells are made of thin sheet iron. The intensity of a bell's sound depends largely on its size – the larger it is, the louder it sounds. In the Middle Ages, small bells were often worn as decorative elements and frequently replaced buttons for fastening garments.
Bells, cross rolls, and small bells were widespread throughout the entire era in a variety of forms – cast from brass or bronze, forged, or assembled from several individual parts. Their uses were just as varied: they served as toys for children, as decorations on clothing, or as identifying marks for minstrels, jugglers, and jesters. Animals such as sheep, goats, and riding horses also wore bells around their necks or on their bridles.

Over time, the bells develop a matte patina and may show slight signs of rust when exposed to moisture. If you want to avoid this, you can occasionally treat them with a little oil. However, their rustic character is highly valued in today's medieval clothing and lends authenticity and charm to the appearance.
