Description
Medieval cotton shoulder bag – pilgrim’s bag from the “Drunter und Drüber” collection
This simple shoulder bag is part of the “Drunter und Drüber” collection – a LARP and medieval range created for characters of the forest: rangers, archers and adventurers who love the hidden. The bag holds everything you need – without fuss, without frills.
Made from 100% cotton in a twill weave, the fabric is piece-dyed to give it a subtle worn look, as if it had already been on countless journeys. The natural, authentic appearance makes the bag an easy-going companion for a wide variety of outfits. It fastens with a simple wooden button. The straps, approximately 8 cm wide, ensure a comfortable fit – even when worn for long periods. With a total length of approximately 82 cm, it can be worn both classically over the shoulder and as a crossbody bag.
Such shoulder bags were widespread in everyday medieval life. Men and women alike carried them – as pilgrim, provisions or travel bags. They were not ornaments, but practical everyday companions. Depictions can be found, for example, in the Maciejowski Bible (13th century), also known as the Crusader Bible. Whether at a medieval market, LARP, re-enactment or living history event – this bag blends in with almost any outfit.
