Medieval training sword one and a half hand

For centuries, martial artists have been convinced of this simple wisdom: If your goal is to handle a razor-sharp blade safely and effectively, you should first practice with a tool that is about the size, weight and feel of a real weapon, but has the advantage that it is difficult to seriously injure yourself or your training partner. This idea has been practiced by many cultures, including the ancient Romans, who used wooden swords to train their gladiators in sword fighting. The only disadvantage was that wooden training instruments could naturally rot or crack, flake or splinter and could not be used in all weather conditions.
