Description
This sturdy bag is made of approx. 3 mm (0.12 in) thick cowhide leather and features impressive studs. The original bag closure fitting was found in Ås, Sweden.
Historically, this double-stitched bag can be traced back to the 9th-10th century in Scandinavia.
Similar fittings were also found in Birka.
