Description
Viking earrings bronze "Raven" - pair
For centuries, the raven has been part of legends and fairy tales. The ravens Hugin and Munin were two faithful companions of Odin, the god of wisdom. Every morning they flew out to observe the world before returning at nightfall with new news for their master. The idea of Hugin represents thinking and intelligence, while Mugin symbolizes memories and omniscience.
These filigree earrings from the Viking Age (10th century) depict ravens and were made from a find found in Birka, on the Swedish island.
The Viking earrings are delivered as a pair (2 pieces).
