Viking sword Oslo

The Viking sword was one of the most commonly used weapons in the Viking Age. The Viking sword was a really effective weapon on the battlefield; the presumed reasons for the sudden appearance of the Vikings at the end of the VIIIth century are century are manifold. The overpopulation in their home countries is one of the most frequently mentioned reasons for this demographic explosion, which occurred in Norway and Denmark during the VII and VIII centuries. In addition, the progressive establishment of stable rule in almost all of Western Europe, especially on the continent after the foundation of Charlemagne's empire, caused a remarkable increase in European trade, which meant opportunities for piracy. Their armament consisted of a sword or an axe, a spear and a shield, while most men carried a short knife on their belts. Of these weapons, the sword was the most popular, and this piece was looked upon with a certain respect, especially in the case of old swords that had been handed down through generations or plundered from burial mounds.

general warranty for swords

Our show combat weapons are subject to the legal warranty of two years like all other goods. However, it should be noted that the customer is responsible for providing evidence of defects (e.g. material defects) that were already present at the time of purchase and have not been claimed within 6 months. Complaints after 6 months are therefore often difficult and unfortunate for both sides. An exhibition sword is naturally an object of wear and tear. Even the best and most expensive exhibition sword becomes chipped after heavy use, the parry bar can become wobbly and the grip can become loose. This is normal, because strong forces act on the material. Even with these blades the unlikely case can occur that they break if they are already weakened by several and deep embrasures. These are therefore usually not justified reasons for complaint but normal wear and tear. A used show sword shows signs of use after use.
