Medieval helmet, iron hat with clasps and cheek flaps

Here we offer you a masterpiece of the art of armor - an iron hat as it was worn in the 14th century, made of solid 1.6 mm (0.063 inches) thick steel. This helmet was once worn as depicted in the Codex Hardenbergianus, a magnificently illuminated manuscript from around the middle of the 14th century, which can be admired today in the Norwegian National Library in Oslo.
The wolfsbane was popular from France to the Holy Roman Empire. Its wide, turned-up brim offers protection from blows from above and protects the wearer from projectiles without impairing vision, hearing or breathing.
The medieval iron hat consists of a round helmet skull, overlapping, riveted band fittings or clasps (a forehead band, a crown band and a band running from ear to ear) and an approx. 6.5 cm (2.56 inches) wide brim with a flange all the way around. This helmet, reinforced with clasps and fitted with cheek flaps, is a faithful reproduction of the period. Handmade and blackened on the inside to prevent corrosion, it is fitted with a leather inlet that can be adjusted to suit the wearer's needs. The chinstrap, made of soft black leather, can be laced and adjusted.

Whether for re-enactment, LARP or stage play - this helmet fits perfectly into various late medieval settings. Just as suitable for light show combat as it is as an ornament for the home.
