Description
Medieval hood
This simple yet historically significant hood is inspired by illustrations from the famous Maciejowski Bible (also known as the Morgan or Crusader Bible), a richly illustrated manuscript from the 13th century. It is named after Saint Birgitta of Sweden, whose depictions often show this type of headwear.
Made from 87% cotton + 13% linen, the bonnet is comfortable to wear and highly breathable – versatile for medieval events.
The bonnet was designed to completely cover the head while being comfortable to wear under other layers such as veils or hoods. In medieval society, this type of headwear was widely worn – from simple maids to bourgeois ladies. It is as practical as it is elegantly simple.
