Description

Solveig children’s Viking dress, long-sleeved, red/burgundy

This loose-fitting dress is made from sturdy cotton fabric (canvas). The slit neckline can be fastened with a brooch or left open, as desired. It comes with a fabric belt.

The cut of the dress is based on archaeological finds dating from the 9th and 10th centuries. Long dresses with cuts predominantly composed of rectangles and triangles are typical of this period, as this minimises the amount of fabric used.
Fragments have been found in Skjoldehamn, Birka and Haithabu which clearly show the cut of the garment. The dress is therefore an authentic garment for all Vikings.
