Description

Landsknecht Gorget – Protection and Poise for the Battlefield

The Landsknecht Gorget is a historically inspired neck guard based on 16th-century gorget designs, as worn by soldiers, captains and mercenaries of the Holy Roman Empire. The combination of a bevoured front plate and three overlapping lamellae offers solid protection for the throat, collarbone and upper chest without restricting freedom of movement.

Workmanship and material:

Made from 1.6 mm polished mild steel – more robust than the standard range and designed for long-term use.
The back plate mirrors the shape and protection of the front plate, ensuring balanced weight distribution and preventing slippage.
Fastened via adjustable leather straps with steel buckles at the sides – quick to put on and secure in place.
Compatible with Epic Armoury shoulder plates and cuirasses.

Intended use and target audience:

The gorget is ideal for re-enactment, historically inspired LARP and costume projects. It can be worn easily over a gambeson, padded doublet or arming doublet. Whether as a Landsknecht, officer or noble retainer – this piece fits seamlessly into historically inspired armour sets.
