Description
Our Olomouc nose helmet is based directly on the 11th-century helmet found in Olomouc in what is now the Czech Republic, as well as on numerous other similar finds from Lake Orchowskie, Lake Hradsko and Lake Lednice. The one-piece nose helmet appears to have been the most popular helmet across much of Europe for centuries, particularly between the 9th and 13th centuries, as it was versatile and offered a good balance between protection and mobility.
The Bayeux Tapestry, which depicts the Norman invasion of Saxon England, shows this nasal helmet, which was popular at the time.
Simply pair it with one of our chainmail shirts (sold separately) for your next LARP or re-enactment outfit! Perfect for a range of characters, from a simple archer to a mighty knight.
This helmet is handcrafted from 12-gauge carbon steel and lined with a comfortable and secure genuine leather lining. With an internal circumference of 68 cm, it is suitable for everyone. Note: During packaging, this product is carefully coated with a layer of oil, which serves as a temporary (protective) layer against corrosion (rust) and can be easily wiped off using any oil remover or even a dry cloth.
