Description

Medieval padded collar, various colors

This is a padded collar, which was indispensable in the Middle Ages for those who had to wear heavy armor. This collar, simple and stately, protects the neck and relieves the pressure of armor, be it chain or steel.
Made from three layers, this collar offers protection and comfort. The outer layer is made of robust canvas, the middle layer is a soft padding made of polyester, a cotton lining was chosen as the third layer. The elaborate diamond-shaped quilting gives the collar flexibility so that it adapts smoothly to the wearer's neck.
The collar is pulled over the head and fastened securely with a ribbon and studs. The high cut provides additional protection and makes it easier to wear heavy pieces of armor or chain mail by reducing pressure and chafing on the neck.
