Blue/black medieval cape

The Viking cape is based on the capes worn by the Norsemen and Anglo-Saxons, who needed warmth, protection, and versatility in their harsh everyday lives. In deep blue-black, this cape brings historical character to many portrayals—whether in reenactment, LARP, SCA, or as the visible centerpiece of an elegant early medieval costume.
Made from a heavy fabric blend (320 gsm) of 80% wool and 20% nylon in a traditional diamond weave, the medieval cloak offers an ideal combination of warmth, breathability, and increased durability. The wool provides natural heat retention even when damp, while the nylon improves dimensional stability and durability in storage and everyday use. The textured weave gives the cape depth and an authentic-looking surface.
The cut allows for different ways of wearing it: casually thrown over the shoulder, fastened with a brooch or pin – just as historical models show. This makes the cape suitable for characters such as Norwegian warriors, Anglo-Saxon travelers, or a wealthy nobleman of the early Middle Ages.
