Orange Viking tunic with hand embroidery “Freydis”
The Freydis tunic by Leonardo Carbone bears a distinctive feature: intricate hand embroidery along the V-neck, the sleeve edges and the hem. The motifs have been designed and crafted exclusively for this collection – no transfers, no prints, just genuine needlework. This gives each piece an individual character, evident in the vibrant colours and the slight variations that are simply part and parcel of handcrafted work.
The base fabric is 100% cotton – a material that proves its worth during long market events. It absorbs body heat well, allows the skin to breathe and is pleasantly soft against the skin. The wide, flared cut falls just below the knee and allows plenty of freedom of movement when walking, sitting and fighting. A belt can be used to shape the silhouette without compromising on comfort. The unisex pattern is available in three size ranges: S/M, L/XL and XXL/XXXL.
Historically, Vikings – both men and women – wore long-cut tunics made of wool or linen, often decorated with woven trims at the neck and sleeves. The Freydis draws on this aesthetic and translates it into a cotton garment suitable for everyday wear. Whether at a medieval festival, a LARP event or in camp: the tunic fits into many contexts without looking out of place. Combined with Viking trousers, a leather belt and a drinking horn, it creates a harmonious ensemble.
