This beautiful nasal helmet is HANDMADE from 16-gauge mild steel, lined with a comfortable and secure leather liner. A circumference of approximately 68 cm (26.8 inches) (without liner) makes it fit almost all head sizes (65 cm (25.6 inches) with liner). The top is about 22 cm (8.7 inches) in height and the 18 gauge nasal strip is about 9 cm (3.5 inches) long. Weighs about 1.86 Kg (4.1 lbs) (with liner). A sturdy chin strap with a lovely buckle ensures your helmet stays in place during battles.

Note: This product is carefully coated with a layer of oil when packaged that acts as a temporary (protective) layer against corrosion (rust), which can easily be wiped off using any oil remover or even a dry cloth.

Our Saint Wenceslaus helmet is directly inspired by a richly decorated 10th-century original currently exhibited in Prague, probably the oldest nasal helmet ever found. For centuries nasal helmet has been THE most popular helmet in most parts of Europe because of its versatility and good balance between protection and mobility.

The Bayeux tapestry, depicting the Norman invasion of Saxon England, features this nasal helmet that was popular at the time. During the Battle of Hastings, William the Conqueror had to lift this specific helmet to prove he was alive after rumors of his death spread through his army!
