Sutton Hoo leather belt
Sutton Hoo is one of the most important archaeological sites in England and an important source of information about the Anglo-Saxon period. It includes numerous burial mounds, including the famous ship's tomb, from which remarkably well-preserved precious artifacts dating back to the 7th century have been recovered.
In the production of this replica, special attention was paid to the faithful reproduction of details. In this case, the brass belt buckle is a copy of the original golden buckle from the boat tomb, as it can be admired today in London's British Museum. It consists of three parts: an elongated, somewhat egg-shaped fitting plate, a spike with a round plate and a bow. Both the mandrel plate and the stirrup can be moved independently of each other.
A nice eye-catcher is provided by the decorations in the form of animal-like creatures that run across all components of the belt buckle. The belt is made of high-quality genuine leather and is about 4cm wide and 3mm thick. It is provided with 15 rectangular holes.
