Description
Viking pendant silver plated "key"
This ornately crafted Viking pendant, was inspired by a 9th century Viking find in the so-called griffin style. The original of this Viking key is on display at the National Museum of Denmark, where its timeless beauty can be admired.
At the time of the Vikings, the key was an indispensable part of women's clothing and a symbol of their social status. The fact that married women had the power to control the key made it even more symbolic.
