The Yoremade Landsknecht Doublet – A historical style that feels just like real clothing

Anyone putting together an authentic Landsknecht outfit doesn’t want to go unnoticed. The mercenaries of the 16th century were known for their bold, distinctive appearance – and this doublet from Epic Armoury’s Yoremade series captures exactly that energy. It features the classic ‘puff and slash’ look of the Renaissance era, whilst being designed for actual use at LARP events and long festival weekends.

High-quality wool blend fabric for an authentic feel

Most Landsknecht costumes on the market are made from cotton canvas or shiny polyester – materials that look passable from a distance but fail to provide the necessary stiffness and the characteristic volume of the historical silhouette. The Yoremade Doublet is made from a heavy, brushed wool-blend fabric (71% wool, 29% nylon). The high wool content gives the doublet the necessary weight and a matt finish that looks authentic in any light. The nylon content ensures that the star-shaped slits remain sharp and do not fray, even after prolonged use. The fabric breathes in warm weather and keeps you warm in cooler temperatures – ideal for outdoor events.

Practical details for active use

Two-tone design: Available in red & white and green & red – the traditional two-tone look without the need for bespoke tailoring.
Adjustable lacing: Front and side laces with metal aglets allow for a custom fit – whether worn over a thin undershirt or a thicker layer underneath.
Trouser attachment points: Reinforced eyelets at the bottom hem allow for traditional sewing onto trousers, ensuring everything stays in place.
