Medieval surcoat, sleeveless

The pellote is a sleeveless surcoat based on 14th-century courtly fashion. The characteristic ‘Gates of Hell’ cut – with wide-open side panels – was a stylistic device used by the high nobility to display their magnificent undergarments whilst allowing freedom of movement. The Pellote instantly transforms a simple slip into a multi-layered, prestigious ensemble.

The overdress is made from patterned brocade fabric (60% viscose, 40% cotton), which conveys an impression of wealth and status through its texture and sheen. Golden trimmings at the neckline and along the centre front add elegant accents and emphasise the courtly character. Available in cardinal red and sky blue – both colours blend seamlessly into aristocratic or LARP attire. The sleeveless cut guarantees full freedom of movement for the arms, whether sitting, walking or in play.
