Shield button made of pewter

The button with buttonhole was developed in the late High Middle Ages or early Late Middle Ages to attach them to garments. Due to its rapid spread in Europe until the 14th century, the button became a trend, contributing to the creation of tight clothing.

Our offered button was crafted from pewter and has a shield shape. The surface is slightly curved inward and has decorations that make it look like a round shield. An eyelet has been added to the back so that it can be sewn onto garments. In addition to tailoring, it is also suitable for craft projects.
