This Viking knife is inspired by an 11th century Baltic sax knife found in a burial mound in Priekuli, Latvia. It has a sharp blade made of 256-layer Damascus steel and the wooden handle finishes with bone and brass rings on both sides. Damascus steel is an artful fusion of soft and hard iron, resulting in a high degree of hardness. When properly machined, the blades maintain a good sharpness. Its oval cross-section makes it fit well in the hand. The brass handle cap is equipped with a catch strap eyelet (leather strap included).

The leather sheath is decorated with elegant brass fittings. Three leather loops are attached to the brass rings, so you can carry the knife horizontally on your belt in Viking fashion. These carrying loops are decorated with detailed animal heads, made after finds from Björkö/Birka (Sweden).

It is important to note that the blade is sharpened and fully functional. Therefore, this Viking sax made of Damascus steel should be used for decorative purposes or as a collector's item only. It is not suitable for show fighting.
